GUI Upgrade or Not ??

Post by AdminX »

Just got my copy of Deep Fritz 11 yesterday. So far the results seem pretty good. Just one question however. The Gui version is Oct 27, 2008 that I have installed on my desktop. On my Laptop I only installed the Deep Fritz Engine. My laptop is using the Rybka 3 Chessbase GUI version Sept 2, 2008. Should I upgrade the GUI?

Very strange. I open Deep Rybka 3 Gui(Chessbase) and it has the same date of
Deep Fritz 11 Gui. Certainly I'm using only the Deep Fritz 11 Gui,
I do not know what happened.

I found that the Fritz 11, Rybka 3 or Deep Rybka 3 GUI are the same, i mean you can switch among them easily.

Code: Select all

C:\Programmi\ChessBase\ChessProgram11\ChessProgram11.exe -rybka
You can change the last word to -drybka (for Deep Rybka 3), -rybka (Rybka 3) and nothing if you want Fritz 11; i guess it's the same for Deep Fritz 11, what's the last word in this case?

I think the GUI's are interchangeable but sometimes after an upgrade you will get the Fritz 11 splash screen instead of the Rybka 3 splash screen. Not sure if this is fixed in the last version. All the Fritz GUI updates are quite confusing since they do not have a version number and they are all called exactly the same thing.

By the way what are Fritzbases? Are they similar to Shredder bases?

Hi Ted,

same situation: DF11 + new F11GUI update?

My choice was just upgrade 'em all!

But not sure for your R3 GUI.

Best,
