How to convert PGZ to PGN?
What's the quickest way to convert a PGZ (compressed PGN) file to an ordinary PGN file? Thanks.

I don't think that pgz is really a standard is it? Anyway winzip will probably do it as it's just a zipped .pgn file with a file extension more convenient for older versions of Windows?
i.e.: file.pgz = file.pgn.zip
Therefore if winzip complains then you might try renaming the file as above.
Cheers,
Andy

Thanks Andy,
Unfortunately your suggestions don't work. Fortunately the matter is no longer important to me. But for anyone else still interested, there's this from the ChessTutor User Guide http://www.marochess.de/ChessTutor/ctreadme.html
ChessTutorTM PGN Format Support
The ChessTutorTM applet provides support for the PGN file format. ChessTutorTM also supports compressed '.pgz' PGN files for multi-game databases. Compressed PGN files have the dual advantage of taking less (about one half) the space on your web site, while also speeding up transmission times over the Web. To generate '.pgz' database files, use the JavaSQZ utility provided at: http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/masterw/
