SCCT's new 3 type of tournaments !

Post by Sedat Canbaz »

Hello there !

There will be 3 type of tournaments under Fritz GUI,where all engines will be played:
1.Without opening books,no tablebases - currently running...
2.With same neutlar(Perfect 12.33) book+tablebases
3.With own books+tablebases

And still i am not sure which own books to be used for Zappa,TheKing,Loop,Deep Shredder, any suggestions will be helful ?!

Very good Sedat !

Deep Shredder can of course use its own book. As for Zappa, one of your own Perfect series of books should do the trick

Hello Ray !

Thanks a lot for your interesting...

Probably i will use the older version-Perfet 13 book for the engines which are without own books

Normally i have a newer Perfect 16 beta book, but its will be injustice for the rest of the engine's own books

I do not understand the meaning of the exclamation marks in your book(perfect15.ctg).

For example in the line
1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4
I can see that 4...e5 has !! when 4...Nf6 that is more popular move is marked as ?!.

some questions:
1)Why do you give 4...e5 2 exclamation marks?
2)I see in Fritz8 gui prob 6% and 29.7% in the 2 last columns
what does it mean?
3)I see for 4...g6 probabilities of 38.3% and 30.8%
What does it mean?
4)If 4...e5 is not played with probability of 100% in the relevant position then why does it get 2 exclamation marks when other moves do not get it
and why do I see 4...e5 with the green color unlike other moves?

Hello Uri,

!! (green colour)= The engine mainly will prefer that move
! (green colour)= Another alternative move where the engine will play too
? (red colour)= The engine will never play that move
?! (blue colour)=The engine will never play that move too and i think this line will be played only without optimizing book settings

Note:the above book mark options work only with optimized settings
One thing more:For better remembering,i have marked them with ?! (blue colour) especially the interesting lines which sometimes were opened for testing.
After a lot of testings... i have enabled (with green colour) only the lines for high peformance

By the way are you planning to create a opening book :) ?

I do not plan to create an opening book.
I simply play correspondence chess and I wondered how to understand the colours in the opening book and if I should avoid non green moves that are marked with ? or ?!
