converting chessbase to chess assistant

Hi folks,

I know this question has been asked before but...I am having some trouble converting a large chess base database (3.6 million) to chess assistant. CA crashes about half way through. Does anybody know a reliable, not traditional way of converting chess base to chess assistant? or baring this, is there a good, free, large, game collection I can download for chess assistant? (I seem to have misplaced my huge base disk)

Try converting the chessbase database to CBF format (create a new CBF database and copy and paste). Then try converting from CBF to CA within Chess assistant.
