Creating Tournaments and including myself?

Post by louis »

Hello All:

I would like to create a rated tournament here at home with about seven weaker engines and actually play in it-- I have some questions:

Winboard or Arena?

Which additional programs (for rating calc., automated play for the engines, crosstables, general management) should I get?

I want total control over the schedule-- is it possible to play or schedule one or two games at a time?

I would appreciate any information from those who have actually tried this-- any tips or tricks would be great!

I do that for over 6 years now,so my answer is definitely Arena :!:
You can start the tournament, take a full control over the schedual of the tournament, edit the tournament file, generate a beautiful tournament table, etc.

Hi Louis
I would recommend Arena too. I have another suggestion though and that is just use one engine like TSCP and play over a period of time say at least 20 games. Then Arena can give you a more accurate rating for yourself.
