Cyclone 3.0 is released....

Post by Dr.Wael Deeb »

http://www.cyclonechess.com/index.html

Changes since Cyclone 2.3:

pawn outpost (idea from Grapefruit)

UCI options book and hash options modified

several ideas by Teemu Pudas:

bitbase improvement

searchmoves

improved hashing

quiescence checks

code cleanup

I like this new idea implented in Cyclone :D
Tarantula regards :P ,

Hi Dr.D,

Yes, Vadim and I have been in contact via email for some time now...
we discussed the possibility of working together on a new engine (that would combine the best of both cyclone and grapefruit), but have decided instead to continue the development of both engines and simply share ideas.

The ideas from Teemu (developer of Toga CMLX) were posted on the Toga development board and are mostly bug fixes/improvements to egbb,
but does include a small change to the way hashing occurs in search.

Regards-
Norm

Thanks Norman for reconsidering your decision to quit working on Cyclone :D
I also prefer the idea of sharing ideas instead of working on the same engine and I am also interested in your upcoming engine Tarantula....
BTW,I am holding Cyclone from participating in my tournaments until I get my new QX9775 quad machine and I'll let you know if the games of Cyclone is of any interest for you....
Welcome back regards,
Dr.D

Also thanks from me for continuing the project. Cyclone 3 is already on my machine :)

Hi,
It's a 45 nm,12 Mb L2 cache memory quad core processor,so when buying one processor you actualy get a quad machine :D
