Tournament aborted and will be rerun

Post by Graham Banks »

The Fritz 11 GUI just doesn't seem to allow some engines (Glaurung 2.2 and Stockfish 1.2) to operate properly on this one computer of mine, so I'm going to rerun the tournament under ChessGUI.
All of the other divisions in this particular series will also be run under ChessGUI to be consistent.

Hi Graham,
what about setting up the tournament in ChessGUI and importing played games ?
That would at least test the import feature  .
Best,
Matthias.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

True, but I prefer to start the tourney afresh for the sake of consistency. :)

Hi Graham,

could you please be more specific about the issue with Stockfish under Fritz 11?

I normally use Fritz 11 GUI to test Stockfish because I prefer over Arena, expecially in bullet time games, but I never saw something strange (with Arena sometime engines lose on time and I have to test 1'+0.3'' instead of 1'+0'' games as I can do under Fritz 11 without problems).

Perhaps I could reproduce your issues with Stockfish and try to fix for the next release.

Thanks
Marco

Stockfish works fine on my other computers. It's only on my AMD64x2 that both Glaurung 2.2 and Stockfish 1.2 play up.
The kns goes down to below 20 at times and only averages between 200-500 for the game.
Tried the deleting .cbrecent and .cblay files and rebooting fix suggested elsewhere. Tried Dennis' specially made compiles. Same problem.

Cheers, Graham.
