My engine rarely has trouble playing vs. human opps. online using Arena 2.0.1, however often resigns on move one vs. other engines. Can this be corrected somehow?
Thanks.

You need to correct that in your engine.outAtime wrote:My engine rarely has trouble playing vs. human opps. online using Arena 2.0.1, however often resigns on move one vs. other engines. Can this be corrected somehow?

BTW, Arena bug?? means you have tested your engine under other GUIs and it worked without problems.
Matthias.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

Re: Arena bug??
I will have to check the engine then, thankyou for your response.
I have run it under winboard, but will have to test again I suppose...
I just thought was strange that the engine only seems to do this vs. other engines, and not human opps. I will have to find where this could be in the code...
I will post again if I can narrow down the exact problem.
Thanks

Re: Arena bug??
Does this happen with your engine playing either colour, or only when playing white or only playing black?
Can you reproduce the problem with WinBoard? Then you might run WinBoard with /debug option and post the winboard.debug file if it's not too long. For comparison, play a short game as human where the problem does not occur, and post that winboard.debug, too, so one can see any possible differences in behaviour of your engine.

Yes, snippets from a debug file are sometimes the magic that calls in posters into such a thread.outAtime wrote:I will have to check the engine then, thankyou for your response.

The programming subforum may be better if debugs come in.
