How do you switch sides under Chess_GUI 147

Post by pichy »

The human who desires to use ChessGUI to play against the installed
chess engines personally, must register himself/herself as an engine.

Simply creating a text file, naming it Human.exe (substituting your name for Human) works well enough.

I am trying to play human versus engine, but even if the engine is NOT clicked as playing the White Side first it always plays with the white side. Where is the switch sides options?

I agree that playing as human is still "under-developped"
- ChessGUI ships with 2 pre-installed humans.
- As usual, switch colours with "Alternate colours"
- check/uncheck who plays white first (maybe not working ?)
- enter human moves only by clicking
- flip board on main screen
- use human time bonus

Matthias.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

I finally figured it out, here is my first game where I take the engine out of its opening by playing the Clemenz Opening, which is NOT in BigLion Opening repertoire.

Play against Bright, not BigLion
I have just coded the possibility for engine to play black in game 1.
Play Capablanca variant against BigLion80.
