Fritz Gui..

Post by Nimzovik »

Is it me? I put the click move option on lowest possible setting on play chess server and on more than one occassion the program way misinterprets a move (makes it's own move before I release the mouse button.).... I don't like the klic move option period I will make my own moves thank you very much. I have lost too many games this way! :?

I don't know what you mean by "lowest possible setting"; in my Fritz (No. 10 interface), that is not adjustable. Only on/off.

From the F1 help:

"If you click on a square to which only one piece can move, then the program executes that move. If more than one piece can move to the square, then you must use a second click to show the program which piece – except if one of the pieces has executed one of the last two moves. If that is the case, then this piece is automatically chosen. This allows you, for instance, to give a series of checks very rapidly.

If you click the squares g1 or g8 and short castling is legal, then it is executed."

(I can imagine that a problem can occur, if the mouse triggers accidential double clicks.)

Indeed however when setting is off I stll get the agressive mechanism I mention ...even when there is more than one option to move to! :!: We are referring to the single click entry feature of course.

No, it's the engine that does multiprocessing. See the engine settings each, to adjust how many cores (threads) an engine uses. The GUI doesn't matter, for that.

Make sure to get the most recent update/bugfix for your Fritz GUI, via the Playchess server. Maybe that will solve your single click entry problem (I'm not sure; I don't have F11).
