Engine vs Engine matches w/ xboard

Post by jshriver »

When doing xboard eng vs eng matches which command line arguments do you often use?

I wrote a cliboard application for just this purpose, as I've wanted to do matches w/o having to have a GUI loaded.

So far I've implemented:
-fcp first computer
-scp second computer
-sgf save game file

Next I'll be adding:
-mg multiple games
-tc time control

Any that you think are fairly important for this purpose, and within the scope of the xboard protocol?

-Josh

P.S. I plan to release this under the GPL once done, but without time controls it doesnt seem worth releasing yet.

What is -cp? I see in the man page there is a -ncp which sets it as a passive chessboard for game playouts but no engine.
