Members should take a few moments to read the philosophies of those running on both the CCC and the CTF and resist the temptation to vote randomly on the CTF due to the historically large number of Candidates there

So there are. I was quoting the number quoted in a CTF post, not having counted them myself. Anyway with 11 candidates it is even more important to read the nominee statements, though at this stage the majority of votes will already have been cast.

I view the CTF as a battle Royal Cage match, it's mildly entertaining to watch but one would be silly to go in there. As long as the CTF leaves the CCC alone I could care less. There are far better forums out there for intellectual discourse.

Silly is a strange word for someone who doesnt write in CTF. But we have also strange guys who dont feel ashamed when they propagate the closure of CTF but they usually write there.

What is needed is that the moderation is shut down in CTF because CTF is the opening for brathing after the members had their visit in CCC which is about tech and stuff like that. CTF is a forum where you should be able to speak out what is new in your own country, very valuable for the other fellows from all over the World. It's more, it's something that you might use for your mental sanity because it helps if you can speak out what you might have thought over imperfectly since long in the past or caused by actual events. CTF is a form of mutual self-therapy and a total freedom would even have healing forces on the beloaden members. This is what I can certify as a psychologist.

Moderation in CTF is only for people who want to exert or feel power and its restrictions on freedom. And yes, there are S/M addicts there like everywhere.

Moderation in CTF (not in CCC!) is meant for the weaker minds who couldnt defend their positions if under attack. But in truth without that game there is no intellectual satisfaction. In the authoritarian coubtry part in the East of Germany we could watch that for four decades. How dictatorship changes the ability of people to act on their free will basis without too much suspicion.

Other than in CCC where I would always grant certain VIP anonymous accounts,, in CTF this should be an impossibility simply for the reason that you cant speak your free thoughts if you must hide or prefer to play dirty (attacking others without being a target from the opposite side) under hidance.

If only the sponsor and host and also TCAdmin could understand the advantages of Free Speech which is probably the highest good of the American Constitution.

Of course real names are also important in case of defamation and character assassination. If all would post under their known identity all would think twice what they write if they must defend it in a potential court trial. I think it's crazy that a host should be legally responsible for the nonsense certain people are writing in CTF. A second advantage without censorship would be that bigots who attack critics because they want to suppress free opinions must much more carefully choose their arguments because not everything what is called racist hate speech in suppressing mode is also racism. I for one as a professional psychologist have seen certain anti-racism attackers use certain schemes that could also be used by ultra right wing conservatives who (at least in Europe) hate foreigners and Jews in speacial. I dont want to become too concrete with my examples because that wouldnt belong into CCC.

But thanks so far that I was allowed to at least ecxplain a little bit the false consept some members in CCC have about the reality in CTF.

That's what I meant. We should be busy with ourselves all on our own and with feedback from the correspondents but NOT by head strokes by moderators. So, increasing the quality of our thoughts, call it self-improvement isnt therapy that could be understood as exertion of power from the outside. Hopefully I could clarify that by now.

I want to be precise: in CCC the job of moderation is to protect the peaceful procedure of exchanges about technical or scientifical information and data. CTF is something else. Moderation cant protect that someone with a "wrong or weak" political opinion wins the argument.
