Chess Reborn Beyond Computer Comprehension

Post by arimaa_master »

Hi,
I want to thank to people creating this forum posts that I noticed that great game called arimaa (www.arimaa.com).

My attention to arimaa was drawn through this forum 3 years ago and I am still enjoying arimaa very much.

Now I feel obliged to do the same thing to the others reading this forum as well.

I am happy to do this on the occasion of recent publication of book (by two-times arimaa world champion) and sets (by Z-man).

The book: Beginning Arimaa: Chess Reborn Beyond Computer Comprehension

Sets: http://arimaa.com/arimaa/store/gameSet.html

See you in the gameroom.

I had a look at the tutorial and rules - very interesting but looks very very difficult.

Hi Ray,
difficult - huh - it seems to be difficult especially in written form - after watching tutorials (try the second one too) - you will find it easy for sure.

Also it depends on your angle of view - I think the rules are pretty simple comparing with rules of chess (I can say it because I tutored chess and arimaa and to explain completely chess so that it could be understand - it took me about 2 hours - while arimaa took me only 10 minutes or so).

Also I can recommend to take a guest enter into arimaa gameroom and take a first bot in the bot ladder and simply try this rules in real play.

I don´t know how can I help you more with this for now.

If you have any questions about arimaa - don´t hesitate to ask me.
