One more accurate rating list

Post by Vinvin »

I plan to merge games from CCRL 40/40 (210 000 games) , CEGT 40/20 (357 000 games) (and may be WBEC, Leo Dijksman (88000 games) ) to get a more accurate rating list, I've to rename each engine names because of different names on each games database, I hope to have finished before Monday ...

Good luck, merging all the engine names will takes days, and might just drive you crazy

It's "nothing" with engine names; the fun begins when working on large bases with human names

You should only give them the same names when the hardware is nearly identical. Otherwise your rating list will be less accurate and not more accurate.

Werner will correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure they were originally testing with the learnings advisor off.

Ok, almost done :
550.000+ games
1100+ engines

Here are the rating files in different formats :
HTML : http://home.scarlet.be/vincentlejeune/r ... 10-31.html
Text : http://home.scarlet.be/vincentlejeune/r ... -10-31.txt
Open office (calc) : http://home.scarlet.be/vincentlejeune/r ... -10-31.ods

Top players by numbers of games :
Fruit 2.2.1 : 12242 , Spike 1.2 Turin : 11513 , Fritz 11 :9779 , Shredder 9.1 : 9484, Toga II 1.2.1a : 8673 , Fritz 9 : 7978 , Rybka 1.0 Beta 32-bit : 6802 , ...

Notes :
when n-bits is not specified : it's a 32-bit engine or a 64-bit engine with negligible difference strength.
when n-cpu is not specified : it's 1CPU for the engine.

...and thanks to the developers of "textpad", it make very easy to edit very big files !
To Remy Coulom for his "bayeselo.exe", to the Openoffice team for their spreadsheet application and to Firefox team to show so clearly text when doing a "find" command (even in a text file) :!: :D

With good tools a frighten work can become very easy !
