I tried to analyze with fruit2.0 under chessbase gui and
it seems that norton anti-virus does not like it and removed it
looking at the file insight I see the following:
Fruit2.0 fast.exe
A program was behaving suspiciously on your computer
You chose to block and remove it.
Details
Very few users
Fewer than 10 users in the norton community have used this file
This file risk is high
Sonar protection monitors for suspicious program activity on your computer
I choose to restore the file and norton tells me:
Restoring an item from quarantine could potentially put your system at risk
Are you sure you want to restore this risk to your computer?
I wonder what is the problem of norton anti-virus with old chess programs.

Norton? It was the thing of the past.
Get the better Anti Virus program. AVG, Avast, Bit Defender to name a few are the best by popular reviews, rankings and ratings.

I got the same message with Norton Internet Security 2010, and Grapefruit 1.0 Beta. was removed. What did i do? I removed Norton and installed the AVG free version.

With the GPL disputes and code being passed around, a police software could run anyone out of town.
and another thing--no one with your skills should have norton on their pc.
cant stand the slow down, updates, boot up slowdown, communicating with norton server. there are some workarounds with the above but I will not tolerate any software that uses my pc.

AVG is even more annoying than Norton,it also removes files without bothering to ask....David Dahlem wrote:I got the same message with Norton Internet Security 2010, and Grapefruit 1.0 Beta. was removed. What did i do? I removed Norton and installed the AVG free version.
As for Norton,as Swami wrote,it's a thing from the past....personaly I think that installing Norton on your pc is like installing some kind of virus, your comp becomes some sort of Zombie to say the least....

Best,
Gerold.
Did this on a few programs and files.
The last time it was suppose to be fixed. However i you never
get it to work right again. It deleted a couple files when it deleted
a GUI.
Now i still have it on my computer and can;t get it off when i try
to remove it i get a error message. So i just leave it there
but don't use it.
Best,
Gerold.

If you configure AVG correctly it will ask before deleting. Look in 'Tools', 'Advanced Settings', 'Scans', 'Scan whole computer', 'Scan Settings' and uncheck the box labeled "automatically heal/remove infections."Dr.Wael Deeb wrote:AVG is even more annoying than Norton,it also removes files without bothering to ask....David Dahlem wrote:I got the same message with Norton Internet Security 2010, and Grapefruit 1.0 Beta. was removed.
