A very Minor Update to STS (v8.0)

Post by swami »

Dann has done even further analysis with engines and found 2 positions that needed correction. But the best moves for the positions were same, instead alternate moves were changed.

Keymoves and comment strings to the positions 4 and 14 were altered.

Code: Select all

1r3r2/1p3q1k/1Q1p4/2pNbpp1/2P5/7P/PP2R1P1/3R3K b - - bm f4; id "STS(v8.0) AKPC.004"; c0 "f4=10, Ra8=2, Rbe8=4, g4=6";
2r2k1r/1q1nbpp1/p2p4/1p1Pp3/8/P1B2BP1/1PP1QP2/3RR1K1 b - - bm g6; id "STS(v8.0) AKPC.014"; c0 "g6=10, Kg8=3, f5=7";

Just in case, I have removed the older version of this suite, and made only the updated one available so as to avoid confusion.

It's now called STS(v8.0) Advancement of f/g/h pawns II.epd

You know, you might as well call it 8.1. Why have the .0 there if you're not going to use it?

Yes, That makes sense. But Dann had suggested update of STS2 to be called this way:

"STS 2.0 Open Files and Diagonals II.epd"

So, newer updates to later versions follow suit.
