yes, some testing has been done. while it supports mpv (I hope M ANSARI will take a look at it as he has commented he would like to compare mpv output of rybka + clones) from what i've read i don't believe it is any stronger than Igorrit and may be a bit weaker.

It all depends on what is taken out and add before the compile. As you may have heard, igorrit v5 was the strongest until v9 was released. IvanHoe 999981 beta is just as strong, if not a little stronger.

are you sure v9 is stronger than v5, and that it won't freeze after long analysis? i am getting excellent results with v5 at long TC against rybka and am hesitant to switch, but will if v9 is stable.

No, as I am only speculating from what I have heard. I have not tested v9. But my testing shows Ivanhoe 999981 scores are similar to igorrit v5. To your question about multiPV, here is a position with 16 moves considered analyzed side by side by both Rybka and IvanHoe:

Program Elo + - Games Score Av.Op. Draws

  1 IvanHoe 9.81b x64 : 21 41 40 100 54.5 % -10 65.0 %

What does this tells us? Nothing! I suspect they are all of equal strength coming from the same source with little fixes here and there. See the details here.

Quad 2.67 Gz $ Gz Mem RAM. w32.

Game in 10 minutes.
Book: Paradigm.
All engines 4 threads.
Ponder: Offf.
GUI: Fritz 11.

Only one time loss, in an even position, for IvanHoe against Rybka. Clear win for Igorrit (Version 9 although it states V8) and surprisingly strong performance by Deep Shredder 12.

2010-01-Ivanhoe-1 2010

I am not sure which is the strongest one. Let's keep testing... ;-)
