In wb forum, Stephan said it's version 8.5, but at the download page, it's listed as 8.05.
Anyway, great to have an update to a stronger chess engine.

Code: Select all
Version 8.5: important bugfix concerning multiprocessing
Version 8.5: New openingbook, Brutus reads .ctg bookfiles now
Brutus was the top finisher in
GBT2 about year and half ago.

Any chance for a win32 non-sse version of Brutus 8.5?

The amazing thing about this release is that it handles the .ctg opening books format....just awesome....it will be rewarded with a decent opening book in my tournaments
I do hope other programmers follow this approach....

Hi Swami, Norm and others,
Thank you Swaminathan for benching Brutus with STS. The outcome is very usefull, Brutus is performing badly concerning pawnpushes. I will have to add some code in that area for improvement.

Are you interested in such a compile? I can do that for you if you wish. Just out of curiousity: What system are you using that sse leads to troube?

Great! Thanx Jim, your compiles are usually faster than mine anyway.
