According to the Onno website he is almost at the bet stage of the project. But no guess as to the release is given. I may purchase the Onno MP if it ever comes out but as the SP engine had no real benefits to it (Ie: no limit strength, no discernible playing personality) I am not all that gung ho on Onno.

This highlights why I like commercial engines but have no patience with them if they offer nothing more than an engine like Stockfish.

Stockfish is super strong and has great endgame play and training possibilities so I like it! Why get Onno? It offers nothing more and is weaker at the same time.

Naum doesn't have limit strength but it is SO strong and has unique evaluations from time to time and has also proven fun for endgame training as it will really try to trick you! Thus it is worth the money.

Rybka, Shredder, Sjeng, Hiarcs and Junior all have personality to their play, limit strength functions, and are all strong. They provide me with something other than just strength, so they are worth the purchase to me.
(and Shredder and Junior have their own GUI's---whether one likes them or not is personal opinion but at least they are offering something!)

So for Onno to be worth purchasing as an MP it needs to all of a sudden be THE BEST analysis partner, grow a personality, and/or at least implement the limit strength feature. But Ktulu 9 is more interesting to me because it has excellent endgame knowledge!!

Stockfish has great endgame play? I doubt that...

See the game Ktulu-Joker in last year's Dutch Open Championship. Two years ago the game ended in KQQK, which took Ktulu 100 moves to win.
