1. d4 Nc6 2. d5 Ne5 3. f4 Ng4 4. h3 Nf6 5. g4

Starting out with a Queenside version of the Gothic Alekhine.
e5 6. dxe6 Cxe6 7. Nc3 d6 8. e4 h6 9. Bf3 a5 10. Ad4 Ce8

I now have an excellent pawn center and black only has 1 piece in play.
11. Nj3
This looks unusual, but since no Bishop can attack/capture the knight, it's not as bad as it seems. Nh2 (equivalent to Nf2 in 8x8 chess) is a good place for it, and Nh4 can keep the black archbishop off of j5.
Be6
Black is looking for a check on c4, which it won't get.
12. O-O Ae7 13. f5 Bd7 14. Bf4

It's usually a good idea to keep a bishop on the diagonal road that leads to your king, especially if you've moved pawns in front of the castled king.
Bc6 15. Nh4 Ag8 16. Bg3 i5 17. Ng6+

To those who are saying "What the heck was he thinking?" after this move: It's not always a bad idea to dispose of a knight in Gothic Chess. Sometimes you need more room to activate your stronger pieces, and with so much material on the board, trades involving a knight for pawn (or pawns) is much more common. With a pawn advanced to g6, the black king is very uncomfortable. I'm trying, at all costs, to set up a mate.
fxg6 18. fxg6 Ai7 19. Af5
The archbishop is protecting the pawn, and trying to get in a deadly check.
Bd7 20. Bxd6+??
The start of a faulty combination. I believed I had a mate, and also mistakenly thought I had a draw by repetition even if there was no win.
cxd6 21. Qxd6+

From here I thought 21. Qxd6+ Cxd6 22. Axd6+ Kg8 23. Af7+ could at least draw by repetition, but
Kg8!
The simplest refutation. White is dead lost. Might as well try and set up another impossible mating try
22. Rd1? Bxf5 23. Qxd8 Rxd8 24. Rxd8 Cxd8 25. exf5 h5 26.
Ce7+
Again I thought this was a mate (when calculating from move 22). Again I was wrong!
Kf8 27. Re1 Af4+
The deadly archbishop springs to life. What a nasty piece!
28. Kh1 Ag3+ 29. Kg2 Ah4+ 30. Kf1 Cd2+ 31. Kg1 Axf3#

Checkmated by chancellor and archbishop! What a fitting end. If white only could move, Cc8+ would lead to mate.
