my impressions of firebird performance

Post by ozziejoe »

i've been running alot of 1/1 tournements with firebird 1.3 and rybka 3 (dual core) and other engines, and my impression is that firebird is only very slighly better than rybka 3 and is probably so close to rybka 3 as to be indiscriminable from it it many instances (i would copy some results but can't figure out how to copy tourni table ifrom aquirium gui).

So I think it likely that fire 1.3 is weaker than the new rybka (if it is similar in strength to old rybka). the early results seem to be supporting that.

We will need to wait for many more games to come in to have any definitive conclusions. It is a pity that the big, independent testors are not looking at fire 1.3, but i understand them. Are there any neutral evaluators of the accused clones?

Aquarium is not a friend of the comrades, it is the home of the old fish.
Games in this fish glass are cheap and considered capitalistic manipulation
against the Ippolit brothers spirit. A firebird cannot live in such an
environment therefore we suggest to discard the results and trust
in Roberto Pescatore or Norman the holy gral.

Though actually, Fire does occasionally have problems with Aquarium from what I've heard.
