Houdini vs Rybka, traditional FIDE TC nunn suite match

Post by yanquis1972 »

1cpu each, ponder on, 1GB hash each. rybka time parameters NM 100 MM 150 all else default.

for the first time i am using the nunn suite provided with chessbase. i believe it's 10 positions/20 games which sounded decent to me -- i anyone thinks i made a bad choice please speak up. my main gripe was that from what i saw they went farther into theory than i like. at this level & time control 5-8 moves should be enough... at any rate i'll post each game here, both clean & with engine comments, as i get around to it.

haven't been able to observe much but so far there have been 3 draws, no wins, no losses. the past couple games rybka seems to take a slight edge into the endgame, apparently with the genuine belief (judging by her eval) that she's got a very good chance of capa-ing it...hasn't happened yet. latest game is along the same lines; rybka evaluates it as -.66, houdini @ -.19.

there is a fourth game, in which houdini crushed rybka, but i'm not sure if i should 'officially' include it or not, because i forgot to change rykba's time parameters and she simply used wayyyy too little of the clock. nevertheless its a fun game so its posted below. first neat, then messy.
