Re: First sensation, Houdini 1.5 lost vs. Protector 1.4.0!

Post by Frank Quisinsky »

Hi there,

first sensation in SWCR Champions-League 2011 with 40 moves in 150 minutes. Houdini 1.5 x64 lost vs. Protector 1.4.0 402-2 x64. It seems that Protector will reached Round 2 and Sjeng is out of the tourney.

Hi there,

replay the game Houdini 1.5 lost. Really a very nice endgame. Little mistake by Houdini 1.5 (will not give draw in move 140 and lost).

Houdini 1.5 blunder in move 141 after 20 seconds time for move 141.

Clear:
40 moves in 150 minutes, 40 moves in 150 minutes, Rest in 60 minutes without endgame tablebases. No more time in move 141 :-)

For each of the 16 groups you can find a Replay-Zone. Games with GUI comments are available too (*.cbh and *.pgn).

But Houdini 1.5 played in other games fantastic. Very nice short games vs. Jonny 4.0 in Round 1 Group 01.

Interesting!
On infinite analysis of the position in the game, on my 3GHz dualcore (1st try),
it takes Houdini more than 3 minutes to change from 140...g2? (losing) to ...Rb8
[d]5r2/5P2/1KPk4/8/8/2P3p1/p7/R7 b - - 0 140
2nd try: this time from the position itself (not the whole game pgn): 1min37sec :)

Hi Ernest,

thanks for the comments!

I have added very short English annotations in the SWCR Champions-League game databases. To end positions and to the blunder from Houdini and in an other game from Fruit.

I found a second bug by Fruit (lost game vs. Rybka). I have a lot of such Fruit bugs in my SWCR 40/10 databases.

Hi Ernest,

I mean the comments in my PGN / CBH databases. I set little comments in the databases you can download.

Now I have the results from 3/8 rounds.

Great games Equinox 0.92 plays. Have a look in the tournament table or in the Replay-Zone, downloads. Rybka 4 Exp.42 x64 made 11.5/12 points. Fruit 09/07/05 played very buggy games. A big blunder vs. Rybka 4 Exp.42 x64 and much problems without endgame databases. Example: Iin an easy K-R-K endgame Fruit need many moves and found the mate per random only!

GullChess 1.1 x64 won the latest game vs. Equinox 0.92 x64 and made the second place in group 2.

Now group 4 and group 5 is still running over weekend. Group 4 is very interesting because here are playing all tactical strong engines in one group.

And so far in group 5 Thinker 5.4d Inert x64 is playing great games, what I saw in the still running games is really very nice.

Best
Frank

Have a look in the detail page:
Now with a "tournament - performance" information.

I set +25 for not tested engine versions. This is important or I can't make such a calculation.

More information can be found on my "Aktuell" page.
