Bases=NONE (Rybka used 3, 4, 5man Nalimov)
Ponder_Learning=OFF
Perfect 12.32 book w/12-move limit
40/3 Repeating
Match=50 games
IvanHoe B50kBf......+12/-9/=29 - 26.5/50
Rybka 4.1...............+9/-12/=29 - 23.5/50
Very good match for both engines. Of course a match this close does not tell you the strongest engine. OTOH, if there had been no draws, and one had won by a score of 43 - 7 , you can run half a million more games- I wouldn't need them.
What you are seeing with each of these daily matches "is what it is", and should give anyone interested in the IvanHoe engines (which are as clean as any down here- don't believe me, ask someone who now admits he once jumped the gun) an idea of the best and some sense of order. If no one is interested, that is fine as well.
My stance is run them- you will have one hell of a lot of fun- if you like strong engines. And anyone who wants versions they have no idea how to find- feel free to email me and I will be glad to attach and return. And happy to answer any questions you may have, if I am lucky enough to get a couple I know the answer to.
Just PLEASE, NO PMs. Won't read them and then have to respond and then start all over with emails.
I will only say this one time and never repeat it: These engines are here for you to enjoy. And believe me, there is no fun like running engines you are just not sure of the outcome in many, many cases.
There will always be people who will never accept them- and when they win over and over- excuses will be spraying like bullets in a firefight. Wrong time limit, did not let it use its own book, 32bit version not its strength(I will have 64bit very, very soon), no good on 1CPU, needs dual or 4 cores, needs much faster and stronger hardware, ie scales extremely well and you won't run that.
Each to his own, and as Misha told me: "Don't let it concern you George- there will always be those who feel that way. It is their loss, not yours, mine or the IvanHoe development teams. You just have fun- which it is all about anyway, and help those you can- as we helped you."
Enjoy,
george
PS: I decided to just let Rybka use the Nalimovs. InvanHoes don't need them anyway.

My apologies, as I forgot to just add one small footnote- meant to add it to the above in which I said I "wanted to say something one time and never would repeat it."
So please just bear with me, it is not long. And it speaks volumes about human nature and selective reasoning.
Maybe it should be at least a mild surprise to me- but it isn't. It is just what I would expect. If I asked anyone- and have asked quite a few- why they think the engines like RobboLito and IvanHoe are not clean and legit, most would and have said because Vas made the public statement that the "Ippos" came in and took Rybka and all but raped it blantantly. And that the engines are full of Rybka code.
Pretend that he still stands by that statement, just for arguments sake. You are quick to believe him and trust him that he told you the truth. But when he says he told David Levy and others that he went backwards and forwards thru Fruit and took a lot of things, but did not cross any lines he should not have- then you say he is a hypocrite, a liar, cannot be trusted- banned like a pariah forever.
So if he lies to you about that- how are you so sure he did not lie about the Ippos? Is he lying about one and not the other? Is he lying about both? Or is he not lying at all about either?
So if it fits what you want- he is telling the truth.
If it doesn't fit what you want- he is lying.
Nothing short of amazing. Why am I not surprised at all?
Above, I used the word "you" a lot. That is not a blanket condemnation of everyone. You already know who "you" are.

Re: Daily Match- IvanHoe B50kBf v Rybka 4.1
Hi George,
Thanks for running these matches....
Since 8 months I am testing 12 of the most powerful IvanHoe versions at long time controls in a huge RR tournament facing various opponents from the top of my private rating list and I found thus far that IvanHoe-B PP-0.1 x64 is the strongest one after more than 100 games for each engine....
Note that the version 46fa is still pending and I don't have any idea about it's performance....

Thanks Wael, maybe you did not notice where I posted that before Christmas I will have new dual core 64bit Windows 7 system. This will be my first adventure into 64bit. So some like B PP-0.1 I am waiting on the new 64 bit box to test. But I have been eyeballing it. And yes, I have been switching back and forth in my mind about 46fa as to whether or not download and try it. For a while I was flying solo and trying to figure out the ones I need on my own- but recently Mishas (slankamen) and I have become friends. And he has guided me and sent me the ones I need. Before I make a move now on a version, I check with him. Got lucky because we both live in the USA in the same time zone and talk daily on the phone. 5 min. on the phone is worth 2 hours fooling with emails.
I will check as quick as we talk for you about 46fa and let you know. If it has been released and tested, Mishas knows it.
I am really glad that you have an interest in these engines. Email me at geotsp8@yahoo.com and we can trade addresses and can discuss a lot of this stuff.
I don't worry any longer about any lack of interest right now in IvanHoe. I say "IvanHoe", because unless things change- I am told there will be no more RobboLitos, Igorrits, Ippolits. They are all being merged into IvanHoe. Old habits die hard, but the ones who refuse to accept IvanHoe- it is their loss- not ours. I have had more fun with these versions than anything I have ever run.
Thanks again and please stay in touch.
