7 of the top free engines, each playing 288 games against the other 6; a total of 1,008 games.
Match conditions: Core I7 920 at 2.66GHz using 4 cores HT off; Win 7 64 Home Premium; 6G RAM; no large pages; no end-game tablebases; 512 hash each.
To accomodate Komodo and Strelka, 1 core each, ponder on.
Time control is game in 2 min plus 1 second per move. The excellent "ChessGUI" is used to run the match, set to give each engine a 1/10th second "overstep" margin to help avoid any time losses.
The openings are played using random choices from the "top200.pgn" created by Sedat Canbaz as part of his "perfect_2011" opening book; each opening is played as Black and White by each engine.
Yes, Strelka has worked for me using ponder=on without a problem in ChessGUI.
Thanks for the IvanHoe suggestion. I am thinking of doing an "all Ivan" tourney using the 3, 4, 5 that people think may be "best". Let them prove it at the board, and end the guessing!
You are welcome Gerold. One thousand games are a lot to go through, but you never know what someone may find useful or interesting, even in these fast games.
