I wanted to share with you a very nice game played in Graham's Amateur Division 3 between Francesca Mad 0.19 and Pawny 0.3.1.
So the game is ECO A50 : Queen's Fianchetto Defense 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 b6*
Out of book the two engines have to play the following position :
[d]r1bqkb1r/3n1ppp/ppp1pn2/8/2pP4/2N1PN2/PPQB1PPP/3RKB1R w Kkq - 0 9
Position is really equal, Komodo 4 gives it a = 0.01.
Few moves later we can see that both engines have continued their development after 11.0-0*
[d]r2qkb1r/1b1n1ppp/pp2pn2/2p3N1/2BP4/2N1P3/PPQB1PPP/3R1RK1 b kq - 0 11
We can notice that Francesca moved his Knight F3 to g5 threatening h7-f7-e6. Look white bishop in c4, also threatening e6-f7.
In this position the good move is to play 11...b5! to release the pressure on e6-f7 because the bishop is forced to d3. Of course bishop b3 would be a blunder.
Instead Pawny deceided to ask the question to the Knight in g5 by playing 11...h6?
[d]r2qkb1r/1b1n1pp1/pp2pn1p/2p3N1/2BP4/2N1P3/PPQB1PPP/3R1RK1 w kq - 0 12
So where can the Knight g5 go ? On e6! 12.Nxe6! is the very good move !
[d]r2qkb1r/1b1n1pp1/pp2Nn1p/2p5/2BP4/2N1P3/PPQB1PPP/3R1RK1 b kq - 0 12
After 12...fxe6 13.Bxe6 Qc7?! 14.Qg6+ Ke7 15.d5*
[d]r4b1r/1bqnk1p1/pp2BnQp/2pP4/8/2N1P3/PP1B1PPP/3R1RK1 b - - 0 15
Francesca is really well but still have to finish the work

So look how Francesca managed to create a powerful wave in the center.
Here we are after 18.f4!
[d]3krb1r/1bq3p1/pp2Bn1p/2pPn3/4PP2/2N3Q1/PP1B2PP/3R1RK1 b - - 0 18
We now have all the foundations for the big pawns wave : d5-e4-f4

After 20.e5 :
[d]3krb1r/1bq3p1/p3Bn1p/1ppPP3/2n2P2/2N3Q1/PP4PP/2BR1RK1 b - - 0 20
Black are indeed really bad and tried to find some counter-play on the queen side by playing 20...b4!?
After 22.Bf7 :
[d]3krb1r/1bqn1Bp1/p6p/2pPP3/Npn2P2/6Q1/PP4PP/2BR1RK1 b - - 0 22
Now that the rook e8 is trapped, the best move is 22...Rxe5. But Pawny is not too much under pressure and played 22...Qa5??
Few moves and many exchanges later we are now in this position :
[d]5b1r/1b1k2p1/p6p/2pPP3/1pq2P2/6Q1/6PP/2BR1RK1 w - - 0 27
It's the good time to launch the wave ! e6+ then d6 then d7+ and game is won

[d]2k2b1r/1b1P2p1/p3q2p/2p5/1p3P2/6Q1/6PP/2BR1RK1 b - - 0 29
Congrats Francesca Mad
