Longest human chess game 269 moves.

Post by mwyoung »

Houdini 3 Vs. Rybka 4.1 are now at 270 moves at a 40/2.5 hours time control chess game. And still going strong in a KRRNPPPPP Vs. krrnppppp non locked endgame.

The programs have been playing for over 2 days, this game could go over 300 moves at tournament time controls....

Houdini has a slight edge in the position because of a outside pass pawn.

The longest tournament chess game (in terms of moves) ever to be played was Nikolić-Arsović, Belgrade 1989, which lasted for 269 moves and took 20 hours and 15 minutes to complete a drawn game.

I don't know the longest computer chess game at tournament time controls, but I sure it is well over 300 moves.

I have publish the Houdini 3 - Rybka 4 game on you tube. There is nothing spectacular about the game, other then it was very long 290 moves, and took about 36 hours to play.

LOL  seem the only point of this game could have been to produce the longest game with a GM.
