Hi all,
The german CSS fora collected some Dukats to make a series of serious games between Cluster Rybka and Houdini 3.
The first game with a time control of 120 + 0 starts today at 20.00 CET.
Houdini is playing on a 3.4 GHz real 16 core computer (~25MNodes+ in the starting position).
Cluster Rybka is playing with approx. 110 GB 6pc Tbs and 64 cores, Houdini gets the CB End-game-turbo.
The first two games are played from the starting position without a book with changing colors. First game today with white for Rybka.
Have fun
Ingo

Excellent, and good idea to have 2 games from the starting position. How many games in total? Hope 6, as I read in an another post.IWB wrote:Hi all,

I thought I read though, elsewhere, that Houdini plays w/o book?

Re: H3 vs Cluster Rybka
Both play without book, from what Ingo said, at last in the first two matches with reversed color.jdart wrote:I thought I read though, elsewhere, that Houdini plays w/o book?
After those two I suppose some very short book lines will be introduced, for variety.
Let's see what it comes out of it. Naturally to estabilish whom of the two is really "better" would take too many games for what is cost feasible, but anyway it will be a very interesting match nonetheless.

Re: H3 vs Cluster Rybka
I've read in the Rybka forum that the broadcast will be in the engine room of playchess, but in this way who has not a playchess account (as me for example) will not be able to follow the match, or am I wrong?
Would it not be possible to place the match on the broadcast room instead?
It's much time I don't enter in playchess if not as a guest to play some games, so I don't clearly remember if you can enter the engine room without an account or not; in case I'm wrong and you can enter then nevermind what I said.

Same here, my subscription expired, and one needs it to enter the engine room. I can enter the "Broadcast" room but not the "Engine" room. Is it possible to place the games in the "Broadcast" room?Lavir wrote:I've read in the Rybka forum that the broadcast will be in the engine room of playchess, but in this way who has not a playchess account (as me for example) will not be able to follow the match, or am I wrong?
