A Message To Sean Evans from George...........

Post by geots »

Sean, I see you have done a lot of work here, and I am not going to look over it now simply because if I discuss another tester's work with him- it has to be because he contacts me and it is done in private. I feel better that way.

But let me play devil's advocate here for just a moment. Your work may be fine- as I said I have not really had time to look good. But for argument's sake, let's assume that you end up deciding you made mistakes to the point that you feel you wasted your time. Remember not saying you did, just that you end up feeling that way. DO NOT let it get you down. For every mistake you have made or will make or CPU time you will waste- I have doubled it in the last 12 to 14 years. A tester who tells you he never errs is either a damn liar- or still a shitty tester. The only way- I said ONLY way you can become an expert tester that anyone with a brain would love to have is thru your mistakes. More you make- the better tester you will become.

All your work here may be fine- then again there may be errors you made but it doesn't necessarily mean a lot of your work here can't be salvaged. I think all who have been critical from what I have seen have tried their best to do it in a nice, constructive way. I would also advise you listen to Kai Laskos- he has a good handle on this type of stuff.

Any way- any time- I can help you don't hesitate to get in touch with me, and thanks for your work.

All the best,

george
