A0Lite 0.3 vs TCEC s20 L4

Post by dkappe »

Having rewritten a0lite in Julia, I decided to run it against the latest versions of the engines from this past season’s L4, where a0lite scored 6.5. I couldn’t get Chess Fighter, so I swapped in Combusken from L3. GPU was a 2070 and only 8 threads and 1024 hash were provided to the ab engines.

The 30 min. + 5 sec. time control pointed out some time management issues in a0lite as well as some resource issues. I’ve included the one loss against Mr. Bob. The rest of the games can be found here: https://lichess.org/study/grJ5kvXX

Despite a stronger net and a faster engine, a0lite probably wouldn’t promote.
