Fritz 11 and Syzygy ETB

Post by Amstaff »

Hello all, I am using the Fritz11 GUI and trying to set up Syzygy. I seem to set up the path right, no obvious mistakes but the GUI doesn't use it.
All appropriate boxes are checked and I restart Fritz. Is this GUI too old for Syzygy?
Thanks in advance,
Gerald

Probably, I'd say it is expecting Nalimov tablebases.

You will need to add the Syzygy path to your engine ini file located C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\ChessBase\Engines.UCI

Note replace 'UserName' with your profile name when navigating to the directory. Also make sure you have 'Show Hidden Files' selected.

Apart from trying to work out how to interface to Syzygy via delving into SF, is there code without a restrictive licence available anywhere? It always looked so gruesome, I never got round to it. We used Nalimov for past product, and that was straightforward, one asked, he said yes and send me a couple of boxed final products. Done.
