Some days ago Werner asked me if I think CM9000 is the strongest Chessmaster because many think so. I sayed clearly no. Then I was thinking to make this clear for all times

The results for the 8cpu version will follow. Default 1000 games test is actually running and will be finnished in around 2-3 days.

I reckon that CM11 is strongest.
By the way, if you run CM with many cores, I find that those cores stay as being used even when it's the opponents move (ponder off).
Yes Graham, I remember this. I tested this new on my new machine befor I played the first t8 games. With Banksia you can easily see the avg/kn per move the opponent made. I also use priority=below for the king engine. I couldn't see a difference in opp. kn when playing with separated cores. Maybe Win 10 pro and the new chipsets handle this correct. I remember that I had this problem only with my old Amd quad core and WinXp x64. It worked for me also on my last core i7 with Win 8.1 pro.
There are no CM engines. Chessmaster is the GUI and uses King engines since version 3000 if I remember right.
The King Element is a board computer and uses King v2.61 that ia an updated version from the TASC machines. The updates sofar are mostly adaptions to the new board with more configuration possibilities. The engine itself is unchanged. It's clearly weaker then the latest PC versions and is around 2500 ELO. It was used in CM5500 if I remember right. Johan de Koning has retired from computer chess after the release of Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition. https://www.chesshouse.com/blogs/news/t ... s-computer

Are you sure? I thought I read an interview last year where Johan said he’d worked on the engine, and it sounded like an upgrade.
Your information makes it seem like 2.61 is just 2.54 running at 300 MHz instead of 30MHz.
Also your link does seem to contradict your point completely with the text description

No, I'm not 100% sure because I'm not in Ossi Weiners team I don't read the whole thread https://www.schachcomputer.info/forum/s ... php?t=6294 (german). The primary work on the engine are adaptions for more configurations, playing strength as eg 10mhz steps from 10-300. I couldn't read anything about a code update on the engine. The main goal of the King element is for plying against humans. How ever it does nothing change that the engine is weaker than the PC versions. ~2400 Elo. Enough for most human players.
