Niemann at the 2022 US Championships

Post by CornfedForever »

2022 US Open...where pretty much everyone would agree the 'precautions' were about as good as you can get for OTB play.

In the beginning:
Hans Niemann Pre-tournament rating: 2699

13 games later

Hans Niemann Performance rating: 2699

Being a self professed agnostic on the idea of Hans possibly cheating OTB to get to 2700, I have to say... Ironic, isn't it(?).

Specifically, I would like to ask the significance junkies out there if they can square those two numbers with....whatever data points they have been using, from whatever nook and cranny of the internet they found them hiding in...and ask if their OTB cheating suspicions about Hans have changed any?

If not...what kind of 'proof' might ease your mind that he has not cheated OTB?

Hi.

Only to point out, Niemann has just played in the U.S. championship.
The U.S. Open is another tournament:

Last night his stream, Daniel Naroditsky (also chess columnist for the New York Times) said his results in the 2022 US Championship showed of Hans: "100% he is a legit 2700 player OTB"

Chess.com and Hikaru say they have 'nothing' approaching 'proof' on Hans OTB. Magnus...well, his ego tells him 'something' and that will not be enough.

I think it might be simple enough: Publicly offer $1 million to anyone who will step forward with proof and immunity from prosecution if they aided and abetted Hans in his OTB cheating. I say this because he is not a known computer genius/manufacturing genius and would have had to have the help of a confederate. It would cost less than losing a lawsuit.
