Hi to all.
I am looking for a different engine for my challenges.
It is to replace Crafty.
I like Crafty, but it is somewhat cumbersome (as it is not an UCI engine).
What I am looking for:
UCI engine.
Different from Berserk, Komodo, Lc0 and Stockfish.
Preferably, it can play chess960.
Preferably, it has the option to limit its playing strength with UCI_Elo and UCI_LimitStrength
Preferably, it has a very different "style" than the four previously mentioned engines.
Preferably, it is very strong.
¡I welcome all your suggestions! I will review them, and choose one.
Greetings.
Suggestion needed for a challenge engine.

Re: Suggestion needed for a challenge engine.
My Honest suggestion is to play against Rainman rated 1619 with all the pieces http://www.johnnybigert.se/chess_computer.htmlpepechuy wrote: ↑Tue Jan 31, 2023 3:36 am Hi to all.

But if you need another good engine to play handicap or endgame, then I suggest Koivisto 9 which is as good as Berserk 10. Another suggestion is to let any of those engines play with only 1 second per move and you play with 5 Minutes per move under Banksia GUI

Greetings.
But if you need another good engine to play handicap or endgame, then I suggest Koivisto 9 which is as good as Berserk 10. Another suggestion is to let any of those engines play with only 1 second per move and you play with 5 Minutes per move under Banksia GUI

Have you tried Rodent engine, not sure if it plays chess960 but it has many parameters that can be changed and personalities.

I guess Stash would fulfill all your requirements, except for the UCI_Elo and UCI_LimitStrength settings (but it's easy to circumvent using fixed node searches).pepechuy wrote: ↑Tue Jan 31, 2023 3:36 am Hi to all.

Hi.
Thanks for your suggestions.
I read them all, both yours and from others.
I did not reply, because I have nothing to add (for the moment).
Greetings.
