EN-Test 2023:
Why was my thread moved to the Tournaments and Matches forum? Primarily my test is a position test for engines, and there are no engine tournaments or matches!
It was moved here:

Please not so dear moderators, thank you! I want to show my position test to all people and not only those who are interested in tournaments and matches with engines.

Re: EN-Test 2023
I have tested the new 1536 MB network from the Stockfish developers:
https://tests.stockfishchess.org/nns
next to the network name, this code must be changed like this:
constexpr IndexType TransformedFeatureDimensions = 1536;
I chose the network nn-1536de5834a7.nnue because I think it is tactically the best. I implemented the network in my newest private engine Charisma. I have already published some Charisma versions, but I don't want to publish any more versions at the moment. Charisma is a Stockfish clone with a modified search and other parameters than Stockfish dev. If you want to test the newest private Charisma version with the large network, write me an eMail.
Charisma n-1536de5834a7.nnue managed in my test very good 98 solutions (Charisma with the smaller default network managed 100 solutions). That's still 4 solutions more than the last official Stockfish dev version I tested! This is a very strong result, considering that the net is significantly larger. On Ryzen 3900X with 20 threads, the net manages about 15000 kns after one minute in the start position (the default net manages 19000 kns).
Here are all the results:
Ryzen 3900X, 20 Threads, Hash 4 GB, 3456men Syzygy. Charisma nn-1536de5834a7.nnue:

Re: EN-Test 2023
Some observations. In the following position, the draw move f6! is found after only a few seconds, no other engine is that fast. The large network shows great skill here:

Again, the new large network is the best engine in this position. Great, keep it up!
One more aspect: remember that the results of the fish test were obtained exclusively in the Bullet 10s mode:
tc 10+0.1
new_tc 10+0.1
It is clear that the smaller net would win. In analysis mode and with long time controls, it can look different. I am interested in the analysis mode.

Meanwhile there are new results with Network nn-8d69132723e2.nnue on a longer time control; -6 elo STC +11 elo 48x STC ~
I also tested this network but the other "nn-1536de5834a7" was stronger in analysis mode.

3-5) Corchess 4 050523, Result: 101 out of 110 = 91.8%. Corchess 4 050523.txt (ZIP)
Little Beast 3 sl released. Little Beast sl is a powerful bullet and blitz engine for slow computers! The engine uses Eman style learning. I developed the engine for my laptop playing at about 1800 kns and only 5 Watts (power saving mode) on the game servers. The engine has a very fast search. What's new? The engine is just as fast as version 2, but uses the new 1536 MB Stockfish NNUE which is officially the new network size at Stockfish as of today.

I still find your tests to be very variable and unreliable...

Re: EN-Test 2023
Image:

I play in extreme energy saving mode. CPU consumes only 4.5 watts and the engine with the large network manages about 1500 kns. I can play for many hours on the server in battery mode and still not lose a game with my tournament book.
Many think that a Raspberry Pi or Apple devices are the most economical. My Ryzen 5700U can be set to run at 1800 kns with Stockfish (old network) at only 4.5 watts. Are there more economical devices that can do 1800 kns with Stockfish?

Re: EN-Test 2023
June 06, 2023: New in the list are the Corchess 020623 and Stockfish 060623. Stockfish has deteriorated by one point to version of 050523. Some solutions are found by the new Stockfish extremely fast like position 101 (great), but many solutions are not found at all in the 60s like position 41 and 71. I mean, Stockfish dev lacks the right balance in the search.

Re: EN-Test 2023
05. July 2023:
I'm finishing today my ENET-2023 position test. The tests are still important to me personally because the ability of engines to analyze plays a major role for me. I will therefore continue to test, but only privately for myself. If you also want to test the analysis capability of engines, you can download the ENET-2023 position test here:
https://solistachess.jimdosite.com/testing/
I have decided to only use my own engines privately for myself. That's why I removed all download links from my news page. Most of the Stockfish clones I've looked at contain very few changes from the original. There are even clones where not a single line has been changed in the search. Dealing with published Stockfish clones therefore makes little sense. Some authors only publish their engines to satisfy their own ego. If anyone felt that way about my engines, I'm sorry. Originally I intended to test my own clones privately only. I now see it as a mistake that I wasn't consistent enough here. There are few Stockfish cloning engines that make sense to release. An example is ShashChess. In addition to numerous Freatures, this engine contains many of the author's own ideas! I will therefore be happy to point out such engines in the future! Most other developers (myself included) are better off keeping their own engines private and having fun tweaking some parameters. Anyone who only deals with clone engines to make themselves important should look for another hobby.
