Trusted randomness for Freestyle Chess / Chess960 starting positions

Post by freestylechess »

Hi everyone,

I’ve been developing a new tool for the Freestyle Chess (Chess 960) community, specifically focusing on the chess board randomization process for high-level online and OTB play.

The idea behind the https://freestylechess.ai/board-randomizer was to create a clean, transparent way to generate the 960 chess starting positions. I'm particularly interested in the idea of trusted randomness, ensuring that the generation follows a verifiable and unbiased logic that players can rely on for competitive matches.

I’d value technical or professional competitive perspectives from the TalkChess community.

Is there anything you'd suggest to further improve this tool for tournament-style use?

Thanks for your time and any insights you can share!

Cheers,
Rich

I love random Chess 960.

The future of chess is freestyle 8-)
