Who were the players?
I extended an opening line and stumbled onto this position by accident. I have no idea if it has ever been played over the board.

SlowChess Blitz WV2.1 (190 MB hash) PIV 2.4 Ghz

[17] 0.44 39:38.3	Nd5 Qd8 Rxf8+ Nxf8 Rf1 Rc8 c4 Bg5 Bxg5 Qxg5 Qxg5 hxg5 Ne7 Re8 Nf5 Bxf5 Rxf5 Ne6 Rf7 b6

I agree with this part of the pv
Nd5 Qd8 Rxf8+ Nxf8 Rf1 Rc8
but after that move, I think Be3 is stronger than c4. Kg1 might be playable as well.

I think there's enough advantage for white to eventually win the game, but not in an outright manner. If you advance through the SlowChess pv up to the suspect move, you will see many other engines have almost a full pawn advantage for the white side.

Thank you for the comments. I advanced the line up to Nd5 Qd8 Rxf8+ Nxf8 Rf1 Rc8, but SlowChess sticks on c4. At this point ChessTiger 2007.1 plays Be3 with an eval of around 0.8-0.9 favoring white. Strangely Rybka Beta wants to play b4 here for white.

BTW: For your next update of computer-chess.org: there is an updated version of EPD2WB by Thomas Mayer which adds many useful new switches as well as support for uci engines. You can find the references in this thread: http://www.vpittlik.org/wbforum/viewtop ... 377&t=2613
