What is wrong with the WCCC scoring and results table?

Post by Christopher Conkie »

I know about The King and it's late participation to somehow make the clone Gridchess justified in their minds because now they have 12 participants.

I'd like to know what entry fee was paid btw.......

I know that Rybka was to play The King today.

I also know people said Gridchess could not win but it made a draw with Loop which is one of the strongest programs around.

So where are the accurate results?

So far on the ICGA site it is as clear as mud as to what is going on.

In Glasgow use a reference to "a piss-up in a brewery".

Any help?

Christopher

For those who need a translation....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piss_up

"A Piss-up is a British slang word for a party where the focus is on drinking alchoholic beverages. It apprears to be derived from the slang word 'Pissed', meaning intoxicated. The phrase 'He couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery' has long been current, and seems to originate in undergraduate slang."

Hi Chris,

As always the coverage is terrible.

The loop v Shredder game and Zap v The King were on Playchess. However no thanks to the organisers for that. Erdo did the Zap game and I did the Shredder game by hand.

Best Wishes,

Harvey

ps shredder beat loop
zap beat the king
Sjeng won its game - dont know any others at the moment.

Some results:
Baron - Sjeng 0-1
Jonny - Gridchess 0-1
Isichess-Diep 1/2
Zappa - The King 1-0
Loop - Shredder 0-1

(not sure about the colors, sure about the results)

microMax-Rybka is still ongoing. Rybka had connection problems and plays local. Has a winning position though.
Richard.

Thank you Harvey.

That's much more up to date info than the ICGA site has/had.

I think it's criminal that you (and Erdo) had to do that. The premier computer chess tourney and yet CCT...Mainz...Leiden have better broadcasts.

How can this be so?

We have a whole year for this to be organised correctly and then this happens.

Still can't figure out any Rybka results although.....it's a mystery....

Regards

Christopher
