If I´m not wrong CEGT have many games too, check up this http://www.utzingerk.com/matches.htm ,well I think is enough , but if you want... Junior 7's games almost always produce great gems. It's like a virtual Tal playing! Never a dull moment!

I don't (yet) have Junior 10 but in the match in Elista Junior often gave up pieces for coompensation in other areas.

Incidentally, I understand (I e-mailed Shay) Junior 11 may be released before this xmas (I have no idea whether before means a month or 4 months)

Re: Junior 7. I don't know how you'd get it now as it's not on sale anywhere. Not even ebay

There may be people at this site willing to sell their old Junior 7?

I'm fairly certain I'm not the only one who has Fritz 6 Junior 7 et al.

If you are in contact with the authors, can you ask them what engine did they use in the Elista Match vz Fritz. Was it really 9.1 or was it a joke and in fact was 11.

Junior's style has evolved in versions 8-10.1

In my opinion, Junior became 'more solid' (Latest Junior now gets fewer losses vs top opposition). His energetic style has been modified so that he won't always play very risky variations all the time, and opt for more solid alternatives. But given the chance to play provocatively, he will still occasionally play these.

I e-mailed Shay about 3 months ago and he told me about Junior 11 coming out near xmas (possibly). I e-mailed again recently and he hasn't responded (fair do's - he's a busy guy) so I don't think you can say we are in regular contact

Re: buying Junior 7 - I have found that whenever I have out chessbase progs up for sale on ebay they go for around 12 quid (even old ones)

So if anyone has junior 7 they could put it up for sale and see what bids they get. I'd bid for it

Nowadays I don't see the ol' swashbuckling Junior 7 games that much. The opposition has gotten stronger than ever, and Junior 7's tricks don't work as well as they did 5 years ago.

To see Junior 7 in its full glory, let him play vs engines rated 2000-2500. Junior 7 will probably cream them, and best of all, in brilliant style!
