Arena Engine Problem

I installed fritz 7 but the problem with the engine is that every time I go to Engines-engine1/ trailer- start the computer goes to the chess base program, when I want the computer to stay in arena and use the GUI of arena. I don't know whether or not this question is specific enough or not.

I am not sure what you mean by 'Engines-engine1/ trailer' but it seems to me like you are trying to run Fritz 7 within Arena. This is not possible: Arena runs engines which are for the WinBoard or UCI protocols, but not native ChessBase engines.

(an updated Fritz 7 or later can run UCI engines)

Also, the exe file in Fritz is the interface, while the engines have .eng extensions and sometime .dll in addition to them, but they cannot run inside Arena.

There are engines known from ChessBase which you can purchase in UCI format too but from their own websites, each: Shredder UCI and Hiarcs UCI. These versions run in Arena and other UCI capable interfaces.
