Anyone else here tried Chess GUI by Mathias Gemuh? I just downloaded it few days ago, and I think its the next best thing after sliced bread. True that it is currently not in the league of Arena or winboard, but just like arena you dont have to use any adapters to install engines. Who else has ever thought of an engine team fights? It is an excellent idea I say. Rybka paired with Romi vs Fruit and Hiarcs, now that's a handicapped tag team match.

Yeah Team match is the great feature, but ChessGUI has to catch up with Arena as it is missing a lot of features.Tony Thomas wrote:Anyone else here tried Chess GUI by Mathias Gemuh? Re: Chess GUI
bugs in Arena, come on doc -- i'm using it for at least 6 years and i can tell that current version is ok for me. There is things in it that can be improved, add more features and so on but as a FREE piece of software Arena GUI is unique and it contributed very much to computer chess
take it easy

Arena in general is great, especially the tournament mode,a master piece to say the least....GenoM wrote:bugs in Arena, come on doc -- i'm using it for at least 6 years and i can tell that current version is ok for me. But the last beta's are full of bugs and they are very nasty ones

As for me,the most nasty bug is not being able to create personalities out of the UCI engines....The new created personality is busted to say the least

Which is why I use the stable Arena 1.1 GUI.Dr.Wael Deeb wrote: As for me,the most nasty bug is not being able to create personalities out of the UCI engines....The new created personality is busted to say the least
When setting the options for engines you've just loaded, you need to create a new personality when you change the default settings.
