Question about the Aug.18 Deadline

i have received two inquires regarding the deadline for Nominee statements

the way i understand it ..the deadline for accepting-declining the nomination is Aug.18 and this is ALSO the deadline for nominees to submit their position statements

does anyone know if this is correct?

will nominee statements be allowed after 8/18 while the voting is taking place?

with the Nominee thread be LOCKED after the 18th?

Yes,No one will be nominated after the 18th (talkchess time I guess?), atleast that's how I get it from Quentin's post
"Nominees should e-mail their decision to accept or decline to tcadmin@verizon.net with a copy to qnt@chessusa.com no later than August 18."

As for moderation philosophy to be submitted within 18th and if that thread would be locked I don't know.Quentin would give a good answer I guess.

I would guess that the thread wouldn't be locked, or that the nominee statements can be submitted within the start of voting date as he didn't write anything about it, that's the deadline for accepting/declining nomination alone,but that's my opinion as it seems that way.But it's best to ask Quentin.

What's taking you so long to prepare your statement? Just cut to the chase, "If elected moderator I'll treat everybody in a fair, respectful and courteous manner unless that ne'er-do-well Villegas shows up."

Shouldn't be.

Probably, but just hazarding a guess with all three answers. Quentin is the only one able to say for sure.

Gee wiz, Steve. You have never had anything but positive things to say about my Avatar. Now, on the brink of assuming power and control you start making menacing noises about my Avatar being inappropriate.

I am not one to take threats lying down. In case you haven't noticed, I'm on the candidate slate for CTF moderators. I could be elected though, God, I hope not. You give me grief for having an avatar depicting the most sensual, beautiful and voluptuous ass in the universe and, well, just wander over to CTF with one of your silly dedicated chess computers as an avatar and see what happens.
