40 / 20:
Due to holiday we had a relatively quiet week. Inspite of this fact we have two new engines in our list, whicht both did not have a convincing start and where not able to pass their predecessors. Fruit 2.3.1 played 330 games but is 20-30 points behind the best “Fruits” here. Maybe we will integrate another version (061115b) during the next weeks. Another new engine is Hiarcs 11.2 single. After only 138 games it is a little bit behind 11.1, same as with the MP-version. We will continue the tests to have at least 300 games.
NEW
Michael Koppel reorganized our lists as specially the „All Versions“ was a little bit hard to read due to the various hardware and software technologies (1,2,4 CPU and 32/64bit) and the relative combinations. We now have two new “Best Versions Lists” subdivided in “Single” and “MultiCPU”.
In total our 40/20 list is based on more than 173.500 games!
Blitz:
As mentioned last weekend, Wilhelm Hudetz made an update after a longer break. Though we have some problems in this section, we could add more than 6.600 games, so that our list is based on approx. 194.000 with the 200.000 barrier coming into sight. Additionally Wilhelm reorganized the list as Michael did with the 40/20.
New engines:
Rybka 2.3.2a w32 single with 729 games, 36 ahead of 2.2n
Alaric 707 with 469 games, 55 ahead of 404
Hiarcs 11.2 single with 150 games on approx. same level with 11.1 but very few games
Naum 2.2 x64 MP und Naum 2.2 w32 single with onyl 150 games each. As expected Naum is not so strong with shorter time controls as with 40/20 or 40/120. But the 64bit/MP is still TOP 5.
We also have 3 new Fruits which are all on same level so far. In brackets you see the difference to Fruit 2.2.1:
Fruit 2.3 with 570 games (+72)
Fruit 051103 with 360 games (+69)
Fruit 061115b with 270 games (+62)
40 / 120:
We will have weekly updates here too, as our testers have more hardware power now. After 12172 games some trends from last week were confirmed. Naum 2.2 dropped a little bit but is still clear No. 3. After 600 games we do not think this will change any more. Hiarcs 11.2 still has an advantage of 20 points compared to the 11.0. There seems to be no real improvement.
