historically though there has been about 300 voters in each election in the past
the old forum used to contain a link to all of the prior elections
showing the candidates ..vote totals ..numbers of voters ..etc etc
which i thought was great for full disclosure and to show a sense of history

hopefully we will hit 300 or so
but as the weekend approaches i fear we are getting close to less and less new voters

Best
Steve
Well, I am sure the number of voters will start to rise again from Friday on.
I agree though that we will probably have a few less voters than
in the past due to holidays time.
BTW is there still any archive active, which contains the old election
results? Didn't find one at once, but I did not try hard.

Cheers,
Guenther
i tried to find one when the forum moved to the new software
i am fairly certain it is gone Guenther

a real pity...

it would be nice if at least the election results for this election could be retained and shown in a link...the previous election was held under the new software but i guess that is lost as well

Best
Steve

Of the 955 current registered members there are 265 who have never posted - plus a large number who have posted only once or twice. The list of members also contains the names of people who have ceased to post, so I would be very surprised if the number of voters approached 500 even if nobody were on holiday.

the 500 was an example i gave to make a point Derek
not a guesstimate as to possible voter turnout

Hi Steve,
I have done a quick count from the member list. There are 357 members who have posted fewer than 4 times in total, and 470 who have yet to reach the 10 posts figure. As there are 955 registered members it means that only 485 members have ever posted 10 times or more, and many of those have in fact left or are now completely inactive (eg Mark Boylan with his 2465 posts) or Paul Gift (1145).

hi Derek
so we have only 485 potentially qualifying voters in total
but even some of these are not qualified to vote because they have not been active in the past three months?
is that correct?

have you or anyone else done the math to see an exact figure (or close to an exact figure) of eligible voters?

just curious regards
Steve

actually if you read the voting thread...
there are only two requirements to be eligible to vote:
1)registered for at least 3 months
2) minimum level of posting

so it seems to me that currently inactive members such as Boylan are eligible to vote

or is there a minimum level of posting required during the LAST three months?

also how did you find out that the minimum level is 10 posts?

is there a thread somewhere in the CTF (or here) that i missed that contains this info?

Perplexed Regards

But an inactive member would not be aware that elections are taking place. Apparently the mods know whether a member has even logged on. Sam Hull indicated in about April that Paul Gift had not logged on since early January.

Go the member list, choose "total posts" in "select sort method" and "ascending order" under order. Then count up the many pages of members with zero posts.

i wasnt asking how do you determine if members have only posted 10 times or 0 times

i was asking how do you know that the definition of a "minimum level" of posting is 10?

or did you use the number 10 as just an example and that is not the exact requirement?
