while i dont remember the exact figure Henrik,the total number of registered members here has been above 900 for weeks now
perhaps the ranks of the registered get cleaned up by the mods every few weeks or so as they might be bogus accounts?

The mods have nothing at all to do with accepting, activating or deleting newly created accounts.
That is all done by the website administrator (Quentin).
All the mods do is deactivate an active account temporarily when a ban is required and then reactivate it once the ban is over.
Then what has happened to the missing 123 members? I am certain the figure of registered members was 955 two days ago: I made a note of it twice whilst posting in this thread.

Guenther's assumption seems the most likely explanation, but you'd need to ask Quentin directly, not me.
Cleaning out all the rubbish accounts around election time seems convenient and sensible.
