Non WB/UCI Chess Programs

Isnt it pointless to include old versions of current engines in that category? If that's the case you should include the old versions of almost every single old program. I think there is a chessprogram called ankchess somewhere, I remember posting about it in winboard forum.

I had a Kasparov dedicated chess computer many years ago (stolen from me in a burglary). I can't remember any details or the name of the company.

Perhaps the name of the company was Saitek?? Even Today the name Kasparov is still associated with the dedicated chess computers they produce.

Did anyone mention russian progs Mirage (author Vladimir Rybinkin) and Kaissa (Mark Donskoy and other authors), Pioneer (Botvinnik, Yudin, Shtilman), Centaur (Victor Vihrev), Vector.

Yes it is pointless especially if it is the older version of the engine that now support WB/UCI/chessbase Native, but which specific engine are you referring to?

There are more, but it is not sure if they would run in recent Windows versions. Old shareware chess programs are:

WinChess (one version of it was included in a MS entertainment pack)
K-Chess (from Australia)
Waxman (a tactically strong but simple windows program)
Gazebo Chess (a Gnu Chess variant which was very buggy)

Man I forgot Waxman! Thanks for that, I did play some games with it long time ago! K-chess is already mentioned, it is also a cool program.
