Game 4 Rybka vs Zappa

Post by AdminX »

Looks like the fish will bite back again. Due to problems with DGT board, this is not going out on the website. Here is the game game as posted on Playchess so far. Looks like a storm is brewing, a pawn storm. 8-)

Looks like it's heading for a draw. Black has a fortress and white cant see a way through.

That has been the interesting thing (for me) for the past few moves.
I thought surely Rybka knows how to conclude a "won" game, but it is up against a strong opponent. Or? maybe it's NOT a won game, even against a weaker opponent than Zappa?
I know one thing, _I_ do not know how to win these positions against a strong opponent.

Oh no! i probably also made a mistake in thinking it interesting. No, there was never even a question of it not being a draw. (I had my own oversights too).
I don't know what the score is, but for sure, the next thing to hope for is game 5.

On my C2D Laptop Glaurung 1.2.1 MP finds 51.Qe1! in under a minute :)
And I think 60. f5 was forced, if you protect the pawn with the king, black plays something like 60...Rh6, and e5 loses the pawn. You have to go back with king to d4, then comes Rf6.
Me wants a Zappa...
