We have the high priest chess programmers. We have the episcopal entrepreneurs who sell the programs. We have a clergy of experts who pontificate about the virtues of each program. We have the laity who adulate all of the above and play their programs religiously.
Is computer chess a way of life.....a religion? Can computer chess solve the moral dilemmas of life?

Here is a silly article for you to peruse. I am sure that having women bishops makes as much sense as having celiacs eat a wheat communion wafer or alcoholics drinking the wine (Sangre de Christo).

PS Paul the Apostle said, "Don't allow a woman to teach or hold authority for it was Eve who sinned first....." Sounds like sexism to me.
PS All religions are inventions.

All the above.
Agreed! But be warned. It could take over you life
After thinking about this topic I have come to the conclusion that you are all wrong. Computer chess is a DRUG. Once you start playing with it you become hooked and can never give it up. The only known side effects are the possibility of wife = mad and or boss = mad or .... well there seems to be to many possible side effects.
Lets everyone think about it. You start off as a kid playing checkers, another drug but much milder then you get hooked and start looking for something stronger, thats when it get you. The final step in this drug family is a powerful drug developed in China called GO.
Lord help anyone who ever get hooked on that as it is so powerful that entire lives have been seen to go down the drain as people keep getting more and more hooked on that one.
