Zappa Mexico in DF10 Interface

Post by Erik Roggenburg »

I am not able to get Zappa Mexico to work properly in the DF10 interface. It looks as though it loads, but when I try to analyze a position, there's nothing in the engine eval section.

Anyone have any suggestions on getting it to work in the DF10 interface?

Thanks.

Hi Erik,

While waiting for a Chessbase guru to answer it, if you're familiar with tinkering Winboard engine, you could try using Zappa Mexico as a WB engine. Use the old "zappa.ini" and edit the parameters for your pc. I think it will work as it is a WB/UCI engine.

Both George and myself are running Zappa Mexico gauntlets under the Fritz 10 GUI without any problems.
However I haven't tried to load it as the main engine and analyse with it.

Erik, are you running Zappa with 6 men tablebases? I buyed
the program in the first day and have some problems with some 6 men.
Try to run with 5 men, if it works fine, download the engine again.

Runs fine here in DF10 GUI, although as with Graham I haven't used it for analysis, just playing games

Oh my god Ray, how long would it take you to load the engine and try the analysis mode? Do you have an injured wrist as well?

Not long, but I'd have to interrupt a running match to do it

Try updating the version of your DF10 gui, i will give you a link and instructions..

http://www.fritzserver.org/updates/gui10.msi
download it, copy to Fritz folder/ChessProgramm10 Folder (usually: C:\Program Files\ChessBase\ChessProgram10) , and start "IUpgrade.exe". Close Fritz / Shredder before installing.
