On the 26th-28th of October the 27th Open Dutch Computer Chess Championship takes place. Hiarcs, Junior, Shredder and Spike MP will be there. I pretty sure the MP versions of all these programs will playing. My question is what do you thing Rybka's chances are, given what has been learned from the Zappa vs. Rybka match?
I think all of them will have good chances, so hopefully this could be a very tough event for Rybka to win. Erdo has show that preparation will also prove to be very important when it comes to opening books.

Shredder,Junior and Hiarcs all have a good chance of winning I guess since we don't know how much they have improved.AdminX wrote:On the 26th-28th of October the 27th Open Dutch Computer Chess Championship takes place. It won't be easy for Rybka, but I'm sure it will win. These tournaments are hard to predict though, with so few games anything can happen

I agree. Rybka SHOULD win, but there are so many other variables.Spock wrote:It won't be easy for Rybka, but I'm sure it will win. These tournaments are hard to predict though, with so few games anything can happen
I hope Shredder does well. I'm excited about the new version coming out.

Junior: Intel 8-core or 16-core (remote)
Hiarcs: Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 (4 cores), 3700 or 3420 MHz (remote)
Rybka: Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 (4 cores), 3200 MHz (remote)
Correction, I am not sure if Shredder will be there or not. Does anyone here know?

Shredder is not on the list Ted.
This post may either be cause or result of misunderstandings.

I doubt that list is final. I don't see why Hiarcs would not play on Harvey's 8-way machine rather than a quad core. Unless the heavily overclocked quad is better for Hiarcs perhaps, if the scaling gains from 4-8 don't outweight the loss in clock speed
